Don't feel too bad - my recently purchased Apple laptop (I won't mention the model) needs to be repaired as well. The turnaround time is 7-10 business days which means a minimum of two weeks if lucky! I would need to back everything up first on some external hard drive (which I don't have) or burn to DVD's (not practical given all of my data and applications). No loaner either! So I'm continuing to limp along restarting and resetting continually and, yes, there does appear to be a power problem as well, although I have to run more hardware tests to be sure...
Since, I like to publish new posts on my blog every couple of days, it's hard to let go!
