If you’re interested in large cardinals, Akihiro Kanamori has made available a (typed rather than typeset) version of his and Magidor’s survey paper, The Evolution of Large Cardinal Axioms in Set Theory.
If you’re interested in more advanced set theory links, this page provides links to individual author’s pages where you can find drafts of chapters for the upcoming three-volume Handbook of Set Theory.
Hmm, too painful to read that quality of a scan :-/. Be sure to update us (preferably in a new post so our RSS readers catch it) if someone does typeset them :). ‘Cuz they _do_ look really interesting…
There are much more important things in mathematics than the quality of the typesetting. I wonder if Domenic Denicola refuses to read old Springer Lectures Notes because they were typed. One would miss a lot of important math that way!
Ouch, that hurts coming from you, Professor Baez. Somehow I’m feeling much worse about my chances of working with you in grad school :(.
It’s more of a time thing… if this were pertinent to my research or course of study, certainly I’d make my way through them regardless of quality. But if I’m looking for a way to pass a weekend afternoon or procrastinate on my homework, I’d rather read something that doesn’t require painful translation and squinting throughout.
